“Wonderful location for exploring Tuscany. We stayed in the two room flat, Jacopo. It was spacious, had a comfortable bed and a nice large bathroom. There were quite a few restaurants a short drive away. The owners did an excellent job of providin”

“Heaven in Tuscany”

We recently spent one month in Tuscany on a hilltop in an ancient village. This farmhouse is expertly run and wonderfully comfortable. It has all of the modern amenities, including wifi internet, a welcoming pool and deck, very comfortable apartments with full kitchens and cozy beds. We used our apartment as home base where we then took train trips to Florence, Venice and Cinque Terra. The train station was only thirty minutes away and had safe free parking for our trips. We were in major cities and always returned to the incredible solitude and beauty of this property. It was a perfect combination of the sites in Italy and the quiet reverence of a hilltop in Tuscany. By far the most incredible aspect was the warm, knowledgeable caring treatment we received from the proprietors Fortunato and Gisella. We toured their home with the wine cellar, we drank their incredible chianti and ''olive juice'' as Fortunato called it. We cannot express how wonderful our stay was and cannot wait to return to the heaven on the hilltop.

“Wonderful place with Fantastic Hosts !”

The place is outstanding : a lovely authentic small village on the top of a hill with a great view. The apartments are independents with easy access to the pool and other facilities. rnMoreover the Hosts Gisella and Fortunato are lovely and very helpful, always here to help you out and make your stay as enjoyable as possible. We were there for a week with a family group of 29 of all ages and everybody had a wonderful time - looking forward to return !

Un peu trop de moustiques mais nous ne rendons pas pour autant responsables les propriétaires...qui nous avaient informés...à nous de nous protéger. Manque de casseroles et renouvellement des poêles et sauteuse

Very clean, spacious, well equipped apartment. Beautiful setting. Lovely swimming pool with plenty of space and loungers. Bar b qs and shaded gardens to relax in. Great home produced wine and olive oil. Owners are very informative and helpful.

The local bakery has wonderful bread and cakes which are worth an early morning trip. The tour and family history of the house are wonderful too. Great place to explore but you definitely need a car to get the most from your stay.

Propriétaire très accueillant et très disponible. Lieux haut perché avec vue superbe sur la vallée. Belle maison en pierre avec décoration locale. Très belle grande piscine. Bien placée pour visite Sienne voire Florence et les nombreux beaux villages de Toscane. Literies correcte

Contrairement à d'autres appartements de la résidence, appartement à l'étage et donc obligé de descendre plus bas et plus loin pour bénéficier espace repas extérieur. Voiture obligatoire car pas de commerce à moins de 7 km. La clim aurait été un plus compte-tenu de la température (moyenne 37)

Avant de prendre la location, faire un maximum de provisions car pas de commerces proches une fois la haut Demander au propriétaire de raconter l'histoire du village et de sa maison.

Un endroit magnifique dans les lavandes et les oliviers. Les propriétaires sont adorables, discrets et attentionnés. Une piscine propre, grande et conviviale. Un charme sobre et sans clinquant dans ce domaine familial. La preuve: certains hôtes y reviennent depuis 5 ans! À recommander sans restriction .

Évidemment le domaine étant isolé la voiture est nécessaire pour les plus simples courses.

Idéalement situé pour les visites de Florence, Sienne et les villages médiévaux. Les propriétaires sont d excellents conseils pour tous les circuits aux alentours.

Everything was positive! Our hosts were particularly warm and welcoming and treated us like family. We were very comfortable there.

Nothing at all.

Make sure to ask the host to give you a tour of the venue, including the family history... it's FASCINATING! Whether you want to sit in the shade and read, or travel to the nearby towns for shopping and sightseeing, this is a great place to be. It's EXACTLY the way you imagine a Tuscan villa will be.

Lovely home and beautiful view. The apartment was very nice.

No grocery stores or restaurants near by. We didn't realize this agriturismo did not have an option for meals which was our ignorance as we thought all of them did. Before we arrived, we received an email from the owners advising us where to shop for groceries which turned out to be very helpful otherwise, we wouldn't have had food for dinner that night or breakfast.

Borgo Rapale is perfectly situated to see Tuscany. On its own, it's a picturesque little village located in the heart of it all. Fortunato and Gisella were wonderful hosts and our apartment was a perfect fit. We especially appreciated the tour of the grounds by Fortunato to give us some of the history of the villa/town.

Borgo Rapale puts you in a position for short drives to Florence (north), Siena/San Gimignano (west), Montepulciano/Montalcino (south) and Cortona/Arezzo (east). We unexpectedly ran into the "palio" of the palle (balls) in Ambra on Sunday September 10th. Patterned after the palio in Siena, but with 5 teams racing through town pushing large balls . . . it was an unexpected little treat. We look forward to a return trip to Borgo Rapale in the future.

The owners tour of his family house and all the history associated with it.

I would suggest screens be placed over the small windows, (as well as the large windows), as we had a few problems with mosquitos so kept these small windows shut.

Calme, confort et détente dans un lieu enchanteur. Les propriétaires, un couple charmant, font tout pour satisfaire leurs hôtes. Bien situé, à 25kms de Sienne, c'est un endroit parfait pour découvrir la région. Et, en plus, l'huile d'olive du domaine est excellente.

Owners were very helpful, the views were stunning, lots of information provided about things to do. The apartment was well equipped and there was plenty of hot water. The bikes on offer were popular with our son.

The pool water was green! Some of the fixtures and fittings in the apartment were dated. There were ants in the apartment.

The nearby Saltabero ropes course is great for families.

Fortunato et Gisela sont formidables et font tout pour faciliter notre accueil. Nous gardons un formidable souvenir de nos deux semaines à Borgo Rapale.

Le canapé-lit du séjour n'était pas très confortable. Quelques moustiques récalcitrants.

Un lieu de séjour très agréable avec sa piscine et sa tranquillité. Très bonnes glaces au café de Castelnuovo. Et tout cela à 20 minutes de Sienne. Nous reviendrons.

Use http://www.tuscanybicycle.com/en/contatti/ to plan a cycle trip - they are based in Gaiole in Chianti and do day tours - serious cycling and/or wine tours - great bikes and itineries. Don't miss the atmosphere of various mediaeval spectaculars such as the Palio in Siena, or the jousting tournament in Arezzo.

Ambra 545 is our favourite place in Italy. The location and amenities are great but enhanced more because of the amazing hosts, Fortunato and Gisella. They make you feel part of the family, and bring the history of the borgo to life.

We love the apartment, Jacopo, because of its location as well as the views from the windows down the valley. The pool is refreshing with many lounges to enjoy the vista. Take a hike to Sogna, interesting spot to discover. Explore the small mountain villages, especially Montebenichi, San Gusme and Gargonza castle. In Ambra, do not miss dining at "Alla corte di Bacco".

The charming hosts who seem to attract a clientele who all appreciate the rural charm and tranquillity and respect other guests privacy and enjoyment.

A slightly slow internet connection which Fortunato was attending to. Over the years the garden has become a little unkempt, but this only adds to the rural feel and encourages children to play without the fear of damaging anything. The crockery, glasses and cutlery could do with updating, although it was adequate for our needs. In hotter weather, without air conditioning fans would be a welcome addition to the living and bedrooms. could be supplied for the bedrooms

If you are adventurous and fit this is great countryside for hiking or mountain biking. However if you want to chill out away from it all this is a great place to do so.

Un complimento alla signora che si occupa delle pulizie degli appartamenti. Impeccabile sulla pulizia e l'ordine. Non mancava nulla, anzi...Per non parlare del Sig. Fortunato, che alla fine della nostra permanenza ci ha raccontato degli aneddoti relativi alla sua famiglia d'origine. Il giro turistico nel suo appartamento è stato come un salto nel passato. Davvero tanti tanti complimenti.

Se posso permettermi di fare un appunto, lo farei esclusivamente sui materassi un pochino scomodi. Per il resto posso solo che complimentarmi con i proprietari.

Difficile de trouver...sinon que les premiers commerces sont à une quinzaine de km mais en vacances ce n'est pas très grave...faut juste ne rien oublier!!

Bien s'organiser pour les courses. Superbe petite promenade à pieds vers le petit hameau de sogna (idéal pour un petit pique nique)en suivant le chemin qui longe les gîtes. Arezzo (souvent oubliée entre Sienne et Florence) vaut la peine; Pienza est charmante

The owners are lovely people, the "borgo" is a beautiful place on top of a hill. All appartment and the little cottage where we use to stay are very well decorated. Lots of other positive aspects....

Of course I would recommend this place very much, but I want it to remain like it is today: calm, relaxing. I want this place to remain a "hidden treasure".

They went beyond the call of duty to assist us when we had a bust tire. We interrupted their family lunch, which they invited us to join as we waited for the tow truck to take our car for repair.

A really, relaxed, comfortable place to stay with the family. Do yourself a favour and go experience yourself. If it's people and culture that tend to make your holidays great, then you will be happy with this place!

Hosts Giselle and Fortunato were wonderful. Fortunato treated us to a tour of his family's basement wine cellar and delighted us with his vast knowledge of the history of the area. Fascinating!

Beautiful, well kept grounds. Apartment was immaculate. Screens on the windows! Kind and caring owners who went out of their way to welcome us and ensure a great stay.

Highly recommend Borgo Rapale. We stayed in the Catarina, and it was the perfect size for a family of five. The apartment was immaculate. Gisella and Fortunato could not have been nicer, Gisella even provided us with some basic supplies for dinner when we arrived later than expected. I would definitely take advantage of the pool, very nicely kept. The location was quiet and removed from main highways, but still close enough for easy drives to the Hill Towns, Siena, and Florence. We cannot recommend this property enough!

- herrlicher Blick aus dem Garten des Quartiers - angenehmer, sauberer Pool - nettes Quartier, sauberes Apartment - sehr nette Eigentümer - gute Erreichbarkeit von Siena, Arezzo, Florenz, Montepulciano... (jeweils ab 30 Min. Autofahrt erreichbar)

- Anreise könnte besser beschrieben sein, bloß nicht über Sogna nach Rapale fahren (sehr schlechte Str) - WLAN könnte besser sein aber man ist ja nicht im Urlaub um den ganzen Tag im Internet zu surfen

- unbedingt die Ortsgeschichte von Fortunato erklären lassen

His willingness to explain and show some interesting parts of his life if you showed interest then he supplied the story but it was never pushed on you

We were self catering and felt it did lack a few items but again you only had to ask and if the had it in there "supermarket " they gave willingly

We were informed via there excellent information booklet how to park with ease in Siena plus many other useful tips

Cottage au calme.Terrasse agréable avec un beau paysage. Propriétaire très disponible,aime rendre service, parle le français.Un classeur avec tous les circuits et visites à faire, les horaires de trains, bus...est à disposition dans le cottage( hyper pratique). Dommage nous n'avons pas pu profiter de la piscine, du fait du mauvais temps.

Rapale permet beaucoup de visites intéressantes (sienne, florence, assise, montepulciano ...)mais pas mal de route à faire pour chaque visite !

Qualité de l'accueil, du confort de l'habitation et de sa situation géographique.

Il faudrait améliorer le matériel de cuisine qui pourrait être enrichi.

Agritursimo proche de la plupart des lieux culturels (SIENNE, FLORENCE, SAN GIMINIANO, VOLTERA, PIENZA, etc....) de quoi apprécier la TOSCANE sous toutes ses formes. Un conseil demander aux propriétaires des adresses de bons restaurants ils sont intarissables. Par ailleurs proche du gîte il est possible de visiter en barque une réserve naturelle d'oiseaux sur le fleuve ARNO.
